The History of
Nelson & Lucy (Leftwich) Flippin
Nelson was born around 1835, and Lucy was born in Virginia in 1830.
They were married in Maury County about 1857. Lucy and Nelson were married for more than fifty
years. They survived the struggles of the Civil War and the reconstruction that followed. In addition
to raising their children, they also raised several of their grandchildren. Lucy and Nelson both died
in 1911.
